The more I listen to this, the more it feels to me like a meditation on rhythm; the different drums of the B sections and the evolving tremolo/VCA/something like that on the pad evoke the theme of leaving and coming, the same but different. Looking forward to more!

about
Instrumental version of an original song titled "Come Back, Come Here" (as a distant reference to Jimmie Spheeris' song named "Come Back"). It's about being multiracial & still loving my people, though they sometimes alienate me.
The song is formatted ABABAB, like many native songs. Part A is mostly a running solo: metaphorically myself on my own. Part B is being in community with my people. For part B, I was inspired by Lionel Loueke, Victor Wooten's "More Love" & my background in percussion, specifically marimba.
I created the Minilogue sounds from scratch. For the lead solo effect, I specifically aimed for a Tibetan bowl as the sound resonates out. Music is medicine.
