about

Originally written in 2012 on a keyboard in my Haskell dorm room, this song contains several perspectives on suicide, alcohol, climate change, domestic violence, depression & assimilation.

Big thanks to Mike Quillin for finding a vocal melody for the verses.

Tools: Korg Minilogue, Microkorg & Novation Circuit

lyrics

Dear someone I don't know,
Will I speak before I go,
will the words slip from my tongue?

Dear honey, please don't go.
It's just the alcohol, you know,
and by tomorrow I will change.
What can I do to make you stay?

It's been days upon weeks,
and we can't fix our mistakes.
I don't want to lose you,
I don't want to be without,
I don't want to go but
beneath the waves we'll drown.

Dear baby, don't you fall.
Will I be too numb to recall
all the things I done to you?

Dear Pops, you see it right?
Will it be so fast that no one bleeds,
and can't you say the words I need
when I'm in tears every night?

It's been days upon weeks,
and we can't fix our mistakes.
I don't want to lose you,
I don't want to be without,
I don't want to go but
beneath the waves we'll drown.

And elders heal us
mothers heal us
let nature heal us
each other heal...

It's been days upon weeks,
and we can't fix our mistakes.
I don't want to lose you,
I don't want to be without,
I don't want to go but
beneath the waves we'll drown.
